We Arrive ! Old School Station Inn Please Read Me

We Arrive!

Despite strong rain and some traffic hold-ups, Tim (who drove) and I finally made it up from the Deep South. We left the A1 queues south of Ripon. Ripon is an historical town and proudly guards the very scenic route through Masham, Leyburn and Hawes, which we enjoyed as we approached Chapel-le-Dale.

We stopped in Ripon to make some last-minute purchases
- and had the opportunity to admire the interesting town centre.

The Old School House

For our IVC away break, we stayed at "The Old School House" in Chapel-le-Dale. It was well located for our excursion to each of the "Three Peaks": Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent. It was self-catering for some days, and there were also suitable pubs in easy reach.

Our residence for our away break was the "Old School House" in Chapel-le-Dale.

The "Old School House" had been suitably converted for the tourist trade.
Nowadays, School Children are bussed - sometimes over long distances - to larger schools.

The Station Inn - Ribblehead

Before we got to our destination, we stopped off at the Station Inn - by Ribblehead Station and the famous Ribblehead Viaduct - to meet everyone else for an enjoyable and welcome evening meal. The Ribblehead Viaduct would indeed accompany us on our Whernside and Ingleborough walks over the weekend. It was getting dark for pictures, but the next days would certainly not be without photographic opportunity!

The Station Inn was close to Ribblehead Station and the famous Ribblehead Viaduct.
We would see more of the Viaduct in the coming days.
