All Good Things Come to an End

It was time to pack the bags and take a last look around, before heading to the nearby rail station. The rail link certainly was one advantage of staying in Windermere; and one advantage which leads on to another, for Windermere has become an effective gateway to the southern Lakes. In under three hours I would be back in the crowded south, with some new memories and experiences stored in my grey cells, thoughts of another visit being never far from those grey cells.




Here's a last look at my B&B, ...




... and the Victorian glass panels over the front door, panels which suggest that this house was brand new in 1897. "Why, that was Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee!", says he with a croaky voice.
