Good Bye Post Script Please Read Me

Fort William to Glasgow

The weather had turned wet, but this gave a special dramatic effect to the views from the first train out from Fort William. The Highland mists were often punctuated by some brighter interludes. Gradually the train wended its way through ever changing views of moors, mountain and lochs - the very essence of the Highlands. And so eventually to the bustling City of Glasgow and the longish, but interesting, homeward run to Euston.

An aura of mystery surround Loch Treig.

The hostel at Corrour is a Mecca for walkers. No cars for miles. The train lighting gives an additional effect.

The raindrops falling on the window, the trees, the little pond, and the platelayers hut, all conspire to give an impressionist quality to this view to the west of Corrour station.

The upper reaches of the Firth of Clyde hove into view
and Queen Street is perhaps only an hour or so away.

Post Script

One again. Many Thanks to Jim and Penny for their excellent organization and walk-leading. Thanks to all for supporting our memorable trip with your good company and with important logistical aspects such as car lifts to interesting places including the start of walks. Fort William should definitely be on the schedule for future CLOG away breaks!
